Shipping

When will my order ship?

Most By Nye jewellery is handmade to order. Please allow up to 6-8 weeks for your piece to be shipped.

If you’re in a rush, please take a look at our In Stock items that are ready to ship, visit us in store to see what we have available, or email info@bynye.com before placing your order.

In Stock items will ship within 3 business days.

How much is shipping?

For all orders within Australia, a flat shipping rate of $10 will apply. All domestic orders are sent via Australia Post Express Post.

For all international orders, a flat shipping rate of $25 will apply. All international orders are sent via Australia Registered Post International, which takes 6–15 business days from dispatch to delivery.

If you need your piece sooner, please get in touch prior to placing your order to find out about custom shipping arrangements.

Please note that your order is not inclusive of any taxes, duties or charges that may be applied when your package arrives in your country. Please refer to your country’s government website for all import changes as you will be solely responsible for them.

What if I need to change my shipping address?

If you need to change your shipping address before your order is shipped please promptly email info@bynye.com. We are not able to redirect orders once they are in transit; In this event please contact the carrier and reference your tracking number for any special delivery requests.

How do I find out about the status of my order?

Please email info@bynye.com and quote your order number for any queries or updates on your order.

What is the return policy?

Unfortunately we don’t offer refunds or exchanges for change of mind purchases, so please make your selection carefully. If you have any questions, just shoot them through to info@bynye.com prior to placing your order.

If you believe an item you receive is faulty, please email info@bynye.com within 7 days of receiving your order to organise an exchange. If the fault is minor we will try and repair the piece within a reasonable time frame.

Sizing

What kind of sizing do you use?

All rings are in standard US sizing.

If you know your ring size but it’s not in US sizing, please use this international size chart for conversion.

What if I don’t know my size?

The best way to ensure that you’ve accurately measured your ring size is to visit us in store, or pop in to a local jeweller to have your finger sized.

Please note that each finger will have a different size.

All our jewellery is handmade and organically shaped. Each piece is unique and any irregularities in shape and texture are a natural part of the design and handcrafting process.

Sustainability

How does By Nye address sustainability?

Sustainability is a cornerstone of the By Nye practice and we strive to adopt a circular approach to jewellery making wherever possible.

Our jewellery is created locally; working with skilled craftspeople in Australia allows us to create a smaller carbon footprint whilst creating your pieces.

We make our collections in small batches and, as much as possible, we make pieces to order to ensure minimal wastage. Most materials used in the design and production process are recycled. All metal off-cuts are remelted and refined; our excess wax from casting and designing are remelted and reused to create future pieces and designs. By Nye is dedicated to continuing to learn and evolve our processes to reduce our impact on the environment.

Care instructions

How do I look after my jewellery?

STERLING SILVER PIECES
Our jewellery is crafted in sterling silver, which naturally oxidises over time. Silver develops this natural tarnish when exposed to air, water and moisture. To best care for your jewellery, we recommend removing it prior to showering or swimming, avoiding contact with perfumes and moisturisers, and avoiding exposure to household cleaning products. Store your jewellery in a cool dry space when not in use. Silver can be easily cleaned with a soft silver polishing cloth or alternatively with warm, soapy water.

SOLID GOLD PIECES
Our fine jewellery pieces are made in 9ct and 18ct solid gold. Solid gold pieces can be easily cleaned with warm, soapy water and a soft cloth. Use a gold polishing cloth if required.

GOLD PLATED PIECES
Our gold-plated pieces are made in sterling silver with 18ct gold plating. Plating naturally fades over time and with exposure to water, sweat, moisturisers and perfume. To best care for your jewellery, we recommend removing it prior to showering, moisturising or exercising, and cleaning it with warm water and a soft cloth. Avoid using a silver or gold polishing cloth that has compound in it; instead use a soft jewellery or sunglass cloth.

If your gold-plated piece is looking a little faded, we can easily extend its life by having it re-plated. Please get in touch for a quote.

Every By Nye piece is quality checked, but we do offer a 6-month manufacturing warranty should a fault occur.

Warranty / Repairs

How do I get my piece repaired?

Send through an email to info@bynye.com with your order number and a photograph of the faulty item. If the fault is due to manufacturing we will reimburse the return shipping costs associated with the repair.

If the fault is due to general wear and tear or if the item has oxidised, twisted or bent, the repair may incur a fee.

Please treat your pieces kindly; they are delicate and should be treated as such. Please refer to care instructions on how to best treat your jewellery.

What if it’s past the 6-month warranty?

Items needing repair outside the 6-month purchase date may incur a fee; this will be assessed case by case. Please email info@bynye.com with your order number and photos of the fault and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

Can I have my item re-plated?

Gold-plated pieces will fade over time, especially if worn while showering or swimming, so please refer to the care instructions to get the most out of your plated piece.

BESPOKE JEWELLERY
